Culinary workshops
Whether you are an experienced cook, or just getting started, we would love to cook with you.
Some of our best memories involve food…. the taste, the aroma, the tradition, as well as the preparation. Mirepoix, Roux, and the Five Mother Sauces? Sautéing, Braising, and Deglazing? Mastering some basic techniques will give you flexibility to cook a huge variety of dishes and adapt to different recipes with confidence.
We aim to fuse the bounty of local ingredients with some French know-how, all in good company, to create a wonderful culinary experience. Come to a Whidbey Island Culinary Workshop to learn and practice your culinary skills, while making new friends in the process.
What’s in a Workshop?
We aim to discover the joy of cooking by offering a fun, relaxed way to level up your kitchen skills. Our workshops feature easy recipes that anyone can master. Rooted in the tradition of Cuisine de Ménage (French home cooking), we will create dishes that are simple to prepare, full of flavor and are focused on quality ingredients. Whether you’re a beginner or just looking to try something new, our hands-on sessions are designed for all experience levels. You’ll cook alongside a small, welcoming group, learn delicious recipes, and leave with new friends and tasty recipes you can recreate at home.

Cooking With Jen
Being raised in the Pacific Northwest, with an avid gardener for a mother, and a butcher and caterer for grandparents, local & fresh food has always played an important part in my family. That tradition has carried on with me and my family, whether it means grabbing fresh berries, fruits and vegetable from my garden, foraging local mushrooms, hunting huckleberries in the mountains, sourcing local milk and cheeses, or getting “a quarter” of a cow from a local farmer. These are all important to the way that I “do” food.
Traveling around the world, especially to Europe, and specifically to France, broadened my view of food, helping me to further and add aspects of preparation, techniques and specialty ingredients to my already local and seasonal approach. Attending a cooking class in Provence, France sharpened my skills and furthered my love of cooking.
